Natural Open Body Gibson Flying V Guitar – Cut-Out V Design

Natural Open Body Flying V Guitar – Distinctive Cut-Out Design

For players looking for something far removed from a conventional V-shaped guitar, this Natural Open Body Flying V Guitar combines the instantly recognisable angular outline with an unusual cut-out body construction. Large sections of the body have been removed to create an aggressive, almost skeletal appearance while allowing the natural wood finish and grain to remain a major part of the design.

The result is a guitar that stands apart not only from traditional Flying V designs, but from most solid-body electric guitars altogether. The open sections through the wings and upper body give the instrument a distinctive custom-built appearance that is particularly suited to players who want an unusual stage guitar.

Natural Wood Finish & Open Body Construction

Rather than covering the guitar in an opaque colour, the warm natural wood finish leaves the grain clearly visible across the body. This contrasts nicely with the darker fretboard, black pickup and traditional metallic hardware.

The most distinctive feature, however, is its multi-cut-out V body. The large geometric openings follow the lines of the guitar rather than simply being decorative additions, producing a much more radical interpretation of the classic V silhouette.

Single Humbucker, Simple Controls

The electronics have deliberately been kept straightforward. A single bridge humbucker provides the direct, powerful response associated with bridge-position humbuckers, making the guitar particularly well suited to rock and heavier styles.

A minimalist control layout keeps the appearance uncluttered and puts the focus on the unusual body construction. Combined with the fixed bridge and stopbar arrangement, this gives the guitar a refreshingly simple setup for players who prefer fewer controls between themselves and their amplifier.

A Different Take on the Flying V

This isn't intended to be another conventional Flying V reproduction. Its open-body construction gives it its own identity and makes it a particularly interesting choice for guitarists who already own more traditional instruments.

Whether you're looking for an unusual Flying V guitar, a natural-finish V, or simply an electric guitar that doesn't look like everything else on the wall, this cut-out design offers something genuinely different.
